Step 1: Download the Pantech Modem Utility from the Pantech Utility site. You will have to register for this free utility application and it is Windows Only at the present time.
Step 2: Load the Application
Step 3: Connect the UML290 to the computer, and make sure the Verizon Access Manager is Closed.
Step 4: Open the Pantech Modem Utility: See Figure 1
Step 5: Click the “Read” button and it will scan for the current settings:
Step 6: Under “Pref_mode”, check “Automatic” option. In the “HDR Service Configuration” section, check the “eHRPD” option. See Figure 2
Step 7: Click the “Write” button to write the settings to the modem. See Figure 3
Step 8: Once the program is done writing, you can disconnect the modem from the computer and connect it into your 4501/4506. If the router is configured correctly, it will now connect via the 4G network.
